ChiaraDear Reader,

We’ve just launched our 116 page November issue (iScot 23) and it’s looking like our best-selling issue to date.  It’s a constant challenge to maintain such high production and content values each month and this has only been made possible by your ongoing support through subscriptions and donations enabling us to grow in print and on-line.

iScot is a genuine grassroots initiative born out of indyref and launched around the same time as our neighbours at the National but without their corporate backup.  We’re doing this the hard way – from scratch.

Our intention was to create a high-quality, independent, pro-Scot publication that celebrated innovation, successes and achievement of Scots while promoting the nation’s interests, culture and influence to a worldwide audience.  And from regular customer feedback, we’re doing a mighty fine job of doing just that – but we want to do more.

Our strap line is “for those o independent mind”. We passionately believe that Scotland and its citizens are more than capable of achieving anything that they set their minds to – that’s why it’s important that against an almost relentless MSM narrative of TWTPTS we continue to offer a positive message that readers can compare and contrast.  Readers are intelligent enough to make up their own mind.

Not every Scot accesses their news online, nor do they have a burning desire to either engage in or consume politics 24/7 – but they do possess a vote – and we believe iScot is an appropriate vehicle to offer a soft introduction and alternative viewpoint.

We are a truly lean operation.  Our management team is unpaid and the magazine has no office to fund. All your hard earned donations to iScot are dedicated to paying freelance journalists, printing, and magazine postage resulting in the high-quality magazine you see today.

We are respectfully asking you to help us keep going by giving iScot your financial support.  We need to find the resource to pay a full-time member of staff to continue to drive the magazine forward. We are aware that there are many worthy causes out there competing for your hard earned cash – and therefore in order to successfully fund this initiative, we want to offer you something in return.

iScot are offering Readers the chance to own a Limited Edition Custom made Leather Scottish Passport Holder.  This wallet has been designed by iScot and is therefore not available to buy in stores or on-line.   The wallet is delivered in a presentation gift box similar to the above image and will be shipping from the end of October.  By buying a subscription or just buying a wallet is a donation in itself.   By electing not to use IndieGoGo crowdfunding website, we are using the commission saved as a contribution towards funding the manufacture of the Scottish passport holders.

We can think of no better Christmas gift than a Scottish Passport Holder and an Annual iScot subscription.

Thank You.

Hello Bill, It is working ok for us using the same link. Paypal may have a slow server – can you try again – and if it still doesn’t work e mail info@iscot.scot and we’ll work something out for you.

Does it have to be PINK

    • iScotEditor  August 17, 2016 at 21:19

Tom, It’s EU maroon (allegedly) it will not be pink. the image you see of the inside of the wallet is from a RED sample. How many do you need ? :-p

  • Graham  August 15, 2016 at 21:21

    Can it hold 2 passports?

    • iScotEditor  August 17, 2016 at 21:17

      Hi Graham

I guess if you use the inside wallet sections you could insert a front cover and back cover of respective passports? possible but never tried it

  • Douglas Young  August 14, 2016 at 21:49

I will be taking out a subscription and would like to request the passport holder is blue and not the current Westminster red if you have not finalised the design
Will also publish links to iScot on YES Shetland FB page

    • iScotEditor  August 17, 2016 at 21:21

      Hi Douglas,

the wallets are custom made. We had to settle on a colour and the consensus was EU maroon. Happy to support your HUB too! e mail me at ken@iscot.scot

    • iScotEditor  August 11, 2016 at 21:30

      Hello Gavin,

I’m not a security expert, but as a software developer with some background in electronics, I know that security breaches come from small things that don’t seem important until it’s too late. So I’d rather have an extra wee layer of tinfoil than not, thanks.
